Twin Ports Interchange

The Twin Ports Interchange reconstruction helped improve one of Duluth’s most important transportation and freight corridors. As MnDOT rebuilt the I-35, TH 53, and I-535 interchange, TKDA led railroad coordination to support safer, more efficient movement through an area that serves the Port of Duluth-Superior. The project replaced structurally deficient and load-restricted bridges, corrected interchange geometric deficiencies, and addressed rail layouts that no longer met current BNSF standards.
