To meet domestic water and fire demands, Crown College needed major water supply improvements, including a new second water supply well. The College selected TKDA to provide design and construction services for the new well, rehabilitating the existing water plant, and adding a 300,000-gallon ground storage reservoir and new booster station.
The $2.1M construction project allows the College to meet current and future water demands and required fire demands to protect the campus. The project included a natural gas generator that provides firm pumping capacity. The new water treatment plant has the capacity to deliver 230,000 gpd, and the booster pumps can produce 1,400-1,600 gpm for fire protection. Overall, the system storage volume is more than the recommended volume of the average daily water demand, plus fire protection.
