TKDA Paved the Way for Cleaner Future With Major Energy Plant Demolition

To make way for a cleaner energy future, Xcel Energy needed to shut down the coal-fired High Bridge Generating Plant. TKDA was the engineering firm responsible for the contract documents for the physical portion of the demolition and assisted Xcel throughout all the project phases.

For the predesign phase, TKDA reviewed and assessed the various architectural, electrical, structural, mechanical, and civil features for over 30 different onsite buildings, utilities, and supportive infrastructures. Our team also provided an owner representative onsite throughout the project. TKDA provided valuable services for the Xcel Energy High Bridge project, which helped the client overcome the many challenges of asset recovery, environmental issues, engineering and time constraints, and public and agency scrutiny.
